Before Submitting a DMCA Notice

Filing a DMCA notice is a serious legal action. Before submitting a takedown notice to Ask Jattoes, consider the following steps:

Contact the User: Attempt to resolve the issue directly with the individual or entity responsible for the content.
Ensure Non-Automated Submission: DMCA notices should be carefully reviewed by a qualified individual. Avoid relying on automated systems or bots, as bulk submissions may result in invalid notices.

DMCA Takedown Notice

A physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is sufficient) of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf;

By submitting a DMCA notice, you acknowledge that the details of your request may be shared with the party accused of infringement.

Counter Notices

If you believe your content was mistakenly removed or disabled due to a DMCA takedown request, you may submit a counter notice. Your counter notice must include the following:

Your physical or electronic signature;
Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and its location before removal;
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled due to a mistake or misidentification;
Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in The Gambia and will accept service of process from the original complainant or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter notice, we will restore the content within 14 business days unless we are notified that the complainant has filed a lawsuit seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

Our Role and Determination

Ask Jattoes is not responsible for evaluating the validity of copyright claims or counterclaims. Our role is limited to determining whether a notice meets the DMCA requirements. We encourage all parties to resolve disputes through proper legal channels.
